We Are Still Alive!
We’ve been neglecting this poor little corner of the Internet, haven’t we? Would you feel better if we told you that it was because we were furiously drawing comics? Winter storms have been sweeping the country for months, and while we’ve gotten more respite from the snow than some, we too have been trapped indoors. Of course, all that means is that we’re drawing, whereas everyone else laments missing the next office meeting (publicly lamenting, anyway, when the boss is watching).
Here’s some recent trivia for you:
- Nazi book burnings were part of a larger plan referred to as “Action against the Un-German Spirit.”
- Up until mid-20th century, “Fraktur” was the national font of Germany (that’s that crazy Germanic script). In “January 3, 1941 Martin Bormann issued a circular to all public offices which declared Fraktur to be Judenlettern (Jewish letters) and prohibited their further use.”
- Weird pen names are not new! Hablot Knight Brown, Charles Dicken’s famed illustrator, went by the name “Phiz.”
- Just about every animal is made cuddlier by putting a sweater on it.
- This does not mean the animal feels more inclined to cuddling though. In fact, the opposite is often true.
